Changing the Nokia welcome video

Like all Nokia phones, the N900 also starts with Nokia’s signature video of clasping hands.

Thanks to the freedom allowed by the Maemo platform (and this post), its easy to change the welcome video (provided its of the right format and resolution).

In order to use rootfs more frugally, I saved the new video in /opt and created a symbolic link to it in the media (/usr/share/hildon-welcome/media) directory.

I also modified the default.conf file with the name of the link so that the conf file will not have to be changed when I choose a new video.

from now on, the penguin will be welcoming me. :likes:
